YDEKC Field Notes, November 2014

Youth Executives of King County did a write up on our practices.
I really love this organization. If you’re in Youth Development I suggest you check this organization out.

Youth Development Executives of King County (YDEKC)

Greetings YDEKC Members and Friends-
Last Thursday was one of my favorite days in my three years of service as YDEKC’s E.D. Our 4th annual Executive Leaders Summit was an energizing day where we were inspired by leaders among us, prioritized our 2015 advocacy agenda and gave input to King County decision makers about the “Best Starts for Kids” levy that is in development for 2015. Our members are some of the most committed and effective leaders in our community, and it’s humbling and powerful to be together in one room planning how to improve the lives of the youth we serve.

We are looking forward to focusing on our strategic plan goal of garnering systemic support of the youth development field in the months and years to come.

In Service,
Jessica

About rjfacilitator

My experience, education, and passion have met in alternative discipline. Through my policy work and my mediation experience I have worked and studied the dynamic components of discipline in many settings. While Restorative Justice is not the only way to approach conflict in communities, it has provided me an effective model in which to examine and engage in conflict. We provide custom programs for schools, colleges, and youth serving agencies seeking to engage with conflict using healthy and sustainable tools.
